RE: Vancouver to Calgary
Columbia IcefieldsThanks FallsHall's Gate
I would recommend taking By 1 up to Cache Creek. It follows the Fraser River canyon, the scenery is unbelievably beautiful. Stop at Hall's Gate and take the excursion down.
From Cache Creek continue on Hy1, through Kamloops to the Banff area. Just east of Field BC is To go National Park (there are a couple of rustic campgrounds) but more interesting/scenic is Takakkaw Falls.
I'm not sure if you will be able to access with your RV, vehicle length and mountain road switchbacks. Ken
From the Banff area, I would highly recommend a day trip up the Icefields Parkway to the Columbia Icefields.
I will try to add links to
Hall's Gate
Takakkaw Falls
Columbia Icefields

RE: May have towed too much weight
Am I reading the original post correctly? You bought? the Pilot in January and they had to change the transmission fluid twice to get rid of the burned smell , that was long before towing. If that's correct, the transmission was badly damaged, long before you started towing. Hopefully covered by some type of warranty.
